Easter bread and Easter desserts

Pita bread is my go-to bread for every day, but when it comes to Easter bread, I'm all for Greek Tsourike! As far as Easter dessert recipes go, be sure to check my expanded list of dessert recipes here, I just selected a few that are my go-to for holidays:

  • Greek Easter Bread - Tsourike (Greek Easter Bread) is a sweet yeast bread that is a bit brioche-like. You’ll love this dense braided loaf that’s adorned with red-dyed eggs. This bread is as delicious as it is meaningful. Or, try the Italian version for an Easter bread that features citrus zest instead of sesame and anise.
  • Ghorayebah (Easter Cookies) - Bite-size, melt-in-your-mouth butter cookies that are just the right amount of sweet. Probably one of the very few recipes I will use butter for, I am an olive oil girl through and through.

  • Tahini Brownie - the combination of nutty sesame tahini and chocolate in these soft, chewy brownies is out of this world. And you should also check out the tahini chocolate chip cookies as well!

For some, Easter brunch is the main celebratory meal, so here are some brunchy ideas and egg dishes that won't disappoint:

    1. Hi, Victoria. I'm so sorry, but we don't have a paper version available to send. All of the recipes you find here are printable, though!

  1. I love Greek and Italian foods and am glad to see this. Thank you, and happy healthy eating to you

  2. I love Mediterranean food, I am looking forward to different dishes. I had an Uncle and Aunt that lived in Athens and she would share some of her mother’s recipes but I’m sure she kept some secrets. Can’t wait, I’m excited!!

  3. Just made your recipe for baba ghanouj and It is another wonderfully healthy appetizer to go along with homemade hummus served with carrots and celery and fennel instead of pita chips or offered along with them. The
Mediterranean diet has always been the healthiest in the world and making these easily prepared choices is thanks to you, Suzy.

  4. I love Mediterranean cooking, but several members of my family will not eat tomatoes. What can I use as a substitute?

  5. Hi, I made the salmon with garlic and lemon, asparagus with mediterranean salsa-this was absolutely delicious. The mint was a yummy, spring, surprise. I also made the potatoes and traditional Greek Salad. Baklava for dessert! I had never made it before, and it was perfect! Thank you for all the amazing recipes!

  6. My former mother in law who is Egyptian used to make kebebah leban (am not sure of spelling). I would ask her for the recipe but so sadly she has dementia and has lost that function.
I try to cook Egyptian for my daughter & husband as often as I am able. Molokhala (green soup) is a standard. One thing I never learned from Teta was how to make the delicious rich goat’s milk or yogurt leban sauce for the kibi. Might you have a recipe?
I am thoroughly enjoying your recipes because I can validate my memory from yours! I am hoping to make this for part of Easter weekend and a roast leg of lamb for Easter Sunday. Even though it will just be 5 for dinner, like you, leftovers are a prized treat to take home!
