This not-too-sweet watermelon sangria recipe is ready minutes! Rather than macerating fruit like a traditional sangria, I blend the watermelon so it quickly mixes with the wine, then serve over ice. It's a refreshing summer sipper you'll drink all season!
Blend. To a blender, add the watermelon cubes (save a handful for garnish), lime juice, honey and a splash of wine. Blend until the watermelon has liquified, then pour through a fine mesh strainer into a large serving pitcher.
Finish and serve. Stir in the Grand Marnier and remaining wine. Cover and chill in your refrigerator, or pour into serving cups over ice and garnish with the reserved watermelon cubes and lime wheels. Enjoy!
What wine to use? Dry white wines like pinot grigio, sauvignon blanc, or chardonnay. Avoid using sweeter white wines like moscato, unless you like your sangria very sweet.
Can you make it ahead of time? You can make this sangria recipe in advance and chill it in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Keep it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve.
Feel free to garnish with more seasonal fruit, like peaches, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries.
